"Anytime you get to be a part of positive change in someone's life, it's exciting. Here I get to do that on a daily basis, in multiple ways, with a great team."
Specialties: I love the variability of family practice. Every patient is vastly different, with a unique story. However my background involved extensive training in pain management, rehabilitation and weight loss programming; so my comfort tends to default to these.
Time spent in Alaska: I'm going on 2 years now! I moved here with my wife and kids seeking what most Alaskans, I think, are looking for...opportunity and adventure. So far, I'd say it's been right on the money.
Previous locations: I was born and raised in Texas, where I lived until moving to Seattle for medical school.
Previous careers: Before medicine, I was full tilt into the fitness world for about 10 years. I worked as a personal trainer at gyms and as an athletic trainer for sport teams, however I spent several years managing gyms and teaching group fitness classes as well.
Hobbies: I am a sports and recreation junkie. If I can throw it, hit it, or shoot it, I'm usually gone. But I do find solace in more meditative activities like wood working, reading, and music.
Family: I've been married to my beautiful wife and friend Jennifer for 4 years and we now have 3 boys: Gabriel (3), Elijah (1) and Isaac (just born in July 2011). They are all without a doubt my pride, joy, and inspiration.
