What do you like to treat and why?
I am a primary care physician with a passion for treating chronic disease, digestive disorders, endocrine conditions, and cancer utilizing Nutrigenomics, Nutrition and Environmental Medicine. These tools allow me to dig deep in order to identify the root cause of these conditions. I have been very privileged to be taught and mentored by esteemed and highly respected physicians and experts in these fields.
How long have you been in Alaska and why did you move here?
This is my first year in Alaska! I came for the unsurpassed beauty, adventure, and outdoor recreation, but what I have very quickly learned to love about Fairbanks is the undeniable sense of community. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming!
Where have you lived before Alaska?
Arizona, Vermont, North Dakota, California, Texas, and my home state Colorado.
In college I waitressed and also worked in a research lab studying Environmental Endocrinology. After college I began working with dementia patients in an assisted living facility, which I loved! I have also worked in a hospital laboratory and I worked for several years as a MOHs technician and medical assistant in a dermatology office.
Hobbies and other interests?
- I love anything outdoors! You name it!
I am the 2nd to youngest of 6 children. Three boys and three girls (Brady Bunch). I would not trade growing up in a large family for anything! This has spurred my interest in birth order, which I find fascinating! I am also a very proud Aunt!
